Lessons from the Baby Guru (I)

Standard

Flecks of black dirt dot
the skin beneath his bottom lip
as he holds aloft
the pink geranium,
by the blooms,
its white ceramic pot
nearly empty on the cement step.
He is proud: “Look!”
“Look!”

How many times have I grabbed a moment
by its bloom and yanked it
straight up and out of its cozy place,
letting the roots dangle in the air,
leaving the pot nearly empty
and feeling prideful: “See,
see!”?

  1. First of all I love the Baby Guru and the “grabbed the moment by its bloom” which is my favorite phrase. I love the details of the dirt and the pink blooms and the white ceramic pot and cement step. It focuses the moment in a lovely and clear way. Your baby guru is adorable! And what a teacher…Good work!! All love and light your way…I enjoyed stopping by and reading your post 🙂
